The Institute attracts students from diverse background not only from across the State of Odisha but from neighboring States like West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh and Bihar etc. Starting with only 16 students in 2004-05, the Institute has consistently grown in strength with a total of 95 students enrolling themselves in 2010-11.At least 98% of all students taken by the Institute in the period from 2004-05 to 2010-11 have been provided with employment both in the government sector and non- government sector. The placement cell of the Institute is constant in its endeavors to connect with as many Hostels and Restaurants as possible in order to explore further possibilities for its students in this particular regard.

 

As far as academic achievements of the Institute are concerned, at least three of our students have won all India first ranks in their respective trades in the Annual Diploma Examination conducted by the National Council of Hotel management and Catering Technology, Noida. They are 1)Sri Sudhir Kumar Singh in Front Office Operation for 2007-08, Sri Soumya Kanta Panda in Food production for 2008-09 and Sri. Sunil Kumar Mohapatra in Food production again for 2009-10. Such recognition at the National level has brought laurels to the Institute crowning it with the national award for being the best Institute of the country in the category of “all round performance”.

 

Systematic monitoring of students progress coupled with the hard work of the staff has, made it possible for the Institute to make a mark on the national scene with its creditable academic distinction and impressive record of placements.
